🎉 Thrilled to have completed my Postgraduate in Big Data & Analytics in Business & Management at the Faculty of Economics and Business, KU Leuven with summa cum laude 🤩 ! 🎉
What an incredible journey it has been, diving into the fascinating world of data science, machine learning, and AI. With expert guidance from both academia and industry practitioners, we gained a thorough understanding of the power and potential of data analytics, in different fields and application areas, from theoretical foundations to use cases, and the challenges that come with it. Eye-opening, to say the least! 🤯
Special thanks to Prof. Dr. Jochen De Weerdt and Prof. Dr. Seppe vanden Broucke for spearheading this rich and rewarding program, and my fellow students: all from different backgrounds and working in very different fields, but sharing the love for data. They made the journey all the more enjoyable. 🙏
One of the best parts? Rolling up our sleeves, and putting theory into practice, by getting our hands dirty on the data!
For my dissertation, I chose to plunge into a field of one of my clients, with a project I couldn’t resist giving the following title 😉:
“𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘵’𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘪𝘵! 𝘋𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘴 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘸𝘦𝘣 𝘴𝘤𝘳𝘢𝘱𝘦𝘥 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘴𝘬𝘺 𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘢 – 𝘈 𝘮𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘢𝘤𝘩 𝘵𝘰 𝘧𝘭𝘢𝘷𝘰𝘳 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘧𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘴𝘬𝘺 𝘤𝘭𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘶𝘮𝘦𝘳 𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴.”
From web scraping and data wrangling to feature engineering and building machine learning models, I was able to cover the full data analysis pipeline using Python, transforming raw data into insights, and developing a model to predict whisky consumer ratings that shows real potential.
It was a deeply rewarding learning experience, one I will definitely explore further and see how I can leverage these skills into my own practice.
Whoever said data analytics were boring?! Data rocks! 😎
