2023: a roller coaster year

Exactly 1 year ago, I took a leap and decided to “go solo” and start a company. And what a rollercoaster it has been … 🎒

And as the year draws to a close in just a few weeks, it’s time to reflect.

βœ…I had the privilege of working with an array fantastic clients, ranging from a Scottish whisky company, a Swiss pharma company, a Belgian building management company, a tech start-up, a finance company, a Flemish government institution, etc. 🀯

βœ…I was able to work on a range of exciting missions, from strategy deployment, culture transformation, leadership development, team dynamics, change management, to even a GDPR roll-out.

A big thank you to all those fantastic clients who put their trust in me this year. I’m proud of the positive impact we’ve made together. πŸ™

βœ…I’ve also been fortunate to connect with some extraordinary individuals from all walks of life and in sometimes unexpected places, explored new collaborations, rekindled lost connections, and strengthened bonds with some wonderful former colleagues. An enriching experience.

βœ…And I finally also invested in myself and started a postgraduate study in big data & analytics to be immersed in the wondrous world of machine learning and AI, another passion 😎 (more on that soon).

But it hasn’t all been sunshine and roses …

❌I made a few decisions I regretted in hindsight, because I didn’t listen to my gut feeling.

❌I focused too much on doing exciting projects, rather than growing my business, even though I knew full well I was falling into the trap.

❌I also haven’t reached out to everyone I wanted to, with the age-old excuse “I’ll do it tomorrow”.

❌And I learned the hard way that not everyone you meet will have your best interests at heart.

Sound familiar?

Safe to say, I’ve learned a lot this first year, not in the least about myself πŸ˜‰. I can only hope you did too!

πŸ’‘One thing I can’t recommend enough: surround yourself with people who are going through the same thing, and with whom you can share your struggles as well as your successes. For me, this has been nothing short of a revelation. So lucky to have been part of such a group of beautiful people (you know who you are πŸ˜‰) and I’m very greatful for their support.

So what a year it has been … let’s bring on the next!

🌍I’m marking the occasion with a revamped website and a clearer offering that emphasizes even more my core passion: helping companies design and implement change that lands, lasts and delivers results (go to mindsalike.co or visit my company page on Linkedin).

Have a look, and tell me what you think!

➑️If you have a change or implementation challenge on the horizon, and want a seasoned “compagnon de route”, you know where to find me πŸ˜‰.

➑️And people who want to join me and become part of Minds Alike, in any shape or form? Let’s have a chat!
